James MontgomeryJuly 11, 2014
Whether he is recording with Kid Rock, sitting in with Gregg Allman, or fronting his hot band of 30 years, blues legend James Montgomery plays with authority.
Montgomery started the James Montgomery Band while attending Boston University. Two years later, he was hired by the Colwell-Winfield Blues Band to play harmonica and tour with Janis Joplin, and by the time he graduated, the James Montgomery Band was among the hottest acts in Boston along with J. Geils and Aerosmith.
Since that time, James has recorded six albums and performed on stage with many musicians including B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, Bonnie Raitt, Steven Tyler, Charlie Daniels, Gregg Allman, Huey Lewis, Billy Squire, James Brown, The Rolling Stones, Joe Cocker, The J. Geils Band and more.
This event is part of New England Arts & Entertainment's Summer Jazz Series at the Poli Club. Season tickets for all four shows are available for $80 and include a reserved table. Call 203-346-2000 for details.
