MSW Community Partnership AwardsOctober 21, 2015
Main Street Waterbury presents the 1st Annual Main Street Community Partnership Award (formerly the Stephen R. Sasala II Community Partnership Award), an annual award ceremony honoring an exceptional individual whose initiative, leadership, and personal commitment embody the spirit of partnership and community involvement.
This year's award will be presented to Literacy Volunteers of Greater Waterbury, Inc. Executive Director Tina Bell Agati. An advocate for promoting literacy throughout the community, Tina is passionate about providing free books to children from low-income families. Through partnerships with the Waterbury Police Activity League, Board of Alderman and other organizations, Tina’s “Waterbury Reads” initiative has blossomed into a highly successful year-round program that provides Waterbury’s poorest neighborhoods with access to free books throughout the year.
Join Main Street Waterbury for an evening of cocktails and hors d'oeuvres as they recognize Tina’s commitment to our community while celebrating the positive impact partnerships play in revitalizing downtown and improving Waterbury’s future.
A portion of the event proceeds will go toward the Stephen R. Sasala, II Community Partnership Scholarship.
