3rd Annual MSW Community Partnership AwardsOctober 05, 2017
Main Street Waterbury presents the 3rd Annual Main Street Community Partnership Award (formerly the Stephen R. Sasala II Community Partnership Award), an annual award ceremony honoring a commendable individual whose initiative, leadership, and personal commitment embody the spirit of partnership and community involvement.
This year's award will be presented to Virginia (Ginny) O’Rourke Cookson. Ginny, who is owner and president of O’Rourke & Birch Florist, Inc. now in its 95th year, has demonstrated with her tireless dedication, the importance of giving your time and talents to our community. Whether working with the Waterbury Chamber’s Foundation on the Business Women’s Forum, or the Exchange Club’s Charitable Foundation, Ginny pours her heart and soul into their projects and events with positive results. In fact, she co-chairs the Exchange Club’s annual Wine & Beer Tasting event which raises critical funds for Child Abuse Prevention programs and Community Enrichment. In addition, Ginny always finds time to support the many other charitable events in our community.
Join Main Street Waterbury for an evening of cocktails and hors d'oeuvres as they recognize Ginny O'Rourke commitment to our community while celebrating the positive impact partnerships play in revitalizing downtown and improving Waterbury’s future.
A portion of the event proceeds will go toward the Stephen R. Sasala, II Community Partnership Scholarship.
