Thought for Food

An Elementary School Service Learning Program

The Palace Theater is teaming up with ShopRite Partners in Caring and Bank of America, to create a service learning program for students titled, “Thought for Food.” The program, which kicks-off October 15 and runs through December 11, invites elementary schools or individual classrooms to organize a hunger awareness campaign and/or a can food drive to benefit local food banks and organizations in need. At the conclusion of the program, students must submit an essay that provides a synopsis of their project and highlights how the program impacted their school and spread Hunger Awareness in their community.

Schools that register to participate are automatically entered to win up to 400 tickets for their students to attend the ShopRite Education Series presentation of “Nate The Great” at the Palace Theater on May 27.

For more information on these programs, or to register a school or classroom for the “Thought For Food” initiative, contact Natalie Lawlor at 203-755-8483 x139.
