FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 31, 2006 CONTACT: Sheree Marcucci (203) 755-8483 X 133 marcucci@palacetheaterct.org TICKET TO EDUCATION ShopRite joins forces with Palace Theater to support local schools WATERBURY –Select ShopRite supermarkets are teaming up with the Palace Theater to help raise funds for community schools in financial need. For the entire month of September, customers at the Waterbury and Bristol ShopRite stores will be asked to donate one dollar to benefit the theater’s Ticket and Travel Subsidy Fund, a program designed to provide financial assistance to non-profit organizations and Title One Schools who otherwise would not have the opportunity to attend theater performances.
Customers who donate money during the month of September will be asked to fill out a ticket shaped donation card at the register, which will be prominently displayed throughout the store. A monetary donation will go to the theater’s Ticket and Travel Subsidy Fund and help offset the cost of Palace Education Series programs for local students. Schools applying to receive these funds are selected based on need and can receive up to 50% reduction ticket prices. This rolling fund may also underwrite the costs of transportation, educational master classes and workshops that combine arts and academics. Tickets for all the Palace Study Hall ShopRite Education Series shows are $8.00 and on sale now at the Palace Box Office. For more information, please contact Box Office and Group Sales Coordinator Robyn Colossa at 203-755-8483 ext. 134. ShopRite is the proud sponsor of the 2006-2007 Palace Theater Study Hall Education Series. ###
