Best-selling author holds book signing at Palace Theater
WATERBURY – Fans of best-selling author and NPR humorist David Sedaris will have a chance to get up-close and personal, when the critically acclaimed writer holds an exclusive book-singing following his performance at the Palace Theater on Saturday, September 30, at 8:00pm.
The post-show book signing is open to all audience members and will take place in the theater’s main lobby. Barnes & Nobles Booksellers will be on site offering a variety of Sedaris’ most popular titles for sale.
Sedaris may well be the closest thing the literary world has these days to a rock star. Named by Time magazine as “Humorist of the Year” in 2001, much of the two time Grammy-nominee’s humor is autobiographical and self-deprecating, concerning his large family life, Greek heritage, various jobs, education, and his life in France with his boyfriend Hugh. Best-known for his works "SantaLand Diaries," Me Talk Pretty One Day, and Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim, Sedaris’ sardonic wit and incisive social critique have since made him one of America’s pre-eminent humor writers and one of the most observant writers addressing the human condition today.
Tickets for David Sedaris cost $36 and $26 and are on sale now at the Palace Theater Box Office, located at 100 East Main Street in Waterbury. Groups of 20 or more receive a 10 percent discount. Tickets can be purchased by phone at 203-755-4700 or online at www.palacetheaterct.org.
David Sedaris’ performance is part of the Naugatuck Savings Bank Comedy Series.
