WATERBURY – The Palace Theater is making an exciting announcement about its Broadway Series for the upcoming 07-08 season during this weekend’s performances of Annie. While the theater’s executive director won’t reveal any details until then, he did say there will be many delighted theater patrons once the announcement is made.
Replacement & Additions The children’ show Dorothy the Dinosaur’s Dance Party, previously scheduled for March 10, has been cancelled due to a nationwide tour cancellation. It has been replaced with the wildly popular children’s favorite Thomas and Friends Live! On Stage, slated for March 28 with tickets going on public sale January 22. All tickets purchased for Dorothy the Dinosaur’s Dance Party will be honored for the Thomas and Friends Live! On Stage show. Another mid-season entry on February 9, at 8:00pm, offers some Latin American soul infusion into the downtown landscape when Una Gran Noche con Gilberto Santa Rosa comes to town for a one night only show! "The Salsa Gentleman," Gilberto Santa Rosa and his live band will offer up a night of fiery and sultry Latin music! Rescheduled The January 24th date for Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell’s presentation, part of the theater’s new series, “Signature Conversations… intimate evenings with fascinating people,” has been changed due to a scheduling conflict. The show, one of three in the new series sponsored by Waterbury Hospital with media sponsor the Republican-American, has been rescheduled for May 1, at 7:30 pm. Hailed as a best selling author, journalist and chronicler of her times, Bushnell will regale audience members with her notoriously sassy and witty observations about life and love in the Big Apple. Audience members will also have an opportunity to ask questions during the format’s interactive Q & A session, hosted by WFSB’s Scot Haney. Following the presentation there will be a book signing opportunity, as well as a pre-show reception option. All tickets purchased for the earlier date will be honored for the new date. To order tickets for any of these offerings or other shows, call or visit the theater’s box office 203.755.4700/100 East main Street, Waterbury, or on-line at www.palacetheaterct.org. ###
