Ticket & Travel Subsidy Fund

The Palace Theater Ticket and Travel Subsidy Fund is a program designed to provide financial assistance to Title 1 Schools and non-profit organizations whose students otherwise would not have the opportunity to experience a live theater performance. For many of these children, a school field trip is their first experience at a live, cultural event - a crucial engagement that can help foster a lifelong appreciation for the arts. Schools applying to receive these funds are selected on a legitimate need basis and receive up to a 100% reduction in ticket prices to presentations featured in the Palace’s Education Series. All Palace Education Series performances address State curriculum standards in education for students grades Pre-K-9 and are endorsed by the CT Association of Schools.

The Ticket and Travel Subsidy Fund has had several contributors over the past years, both corporate and individual, as well as public and anonymous. Last year alone, the Fund provided 1,339 subsidized tickets to local schools and organizations. To date, the Fund has provided ticket subsidies to over 15,000 students throughout the state of Connecticut.

As the need for subsidized tickets continues to outnumber the available funding, the Ticket and Travel Subsidy Fund will remain an integral piece of the Palace’s mission.
