Champian Fulton TrioApril 11, 2014
Pianist/vocalist Champian Fulton began studying piano with her grandmother at age five, and later took up singing, drums, and trumpet before eventually settling on piano and vocals. The daughter of jazz trumpeter and educator Stephen Fulton, Champian graduated with a degree in jazz piano and performance from SUNY Purchase Music Conservatory and later moved to New York City to pursue her music career.
To date, Fulton has performed in many NYC venues, including Birdland, The Garage, and Smalls and Cleopatra's Needle, and has played with such jazz masters as Jimmy Cobb, Frank Wess, Lou Donaldson and Louis Hayes. Her third CD, recorded in late 2009, features her father and the Champian Fulton Trio, which she hopes to expand to a quintet in the near future.
This performance is part of the New England Arts & Entertainment Spring Jazz Series at the Poli Club. Season tickets for all four shows are available for $85 and include a reserved table. Call 203-346-2000 to purchase season tickets.
