The Arts and The Army is an inaugural fundraiser for The Salvation Army. A gallery showing and art sale will be held at the Palace Theater in Waterbury, CT on Thursday, September 13, 2018 for the benefit of The Salvation Army and to support local artists by bringing attention to their work.
The event is organized by the local Executive Directors Majors James & Kathryn Purvis, Operations Manager Bri Pierscinski, members of the Advisory Board of The Salvation Army in Greater Waterbury and several community members to raise much needed funds and awareness of the services and programs of the local Salvation Army. In addition, the showing will support scholarship eligibility for local high school and college students who enter their work.
The Art Show’s proceeds help fund the services that The Salvation Army provides to over 6,000 individuals through our Family Emergency Shelter, Rapid Re-Housing and Homeless Prevention Programs, comprehensive emergency assistance, holiday and back-to-school assistance, character building and over-night camping programs and emergency disaster services.
