Health and Safety

Enjoy the Theater Safely

The Palace Theater management considers the health and safety of our patrons, performers, backstage crews, volunteers, and staff to be its highest priority. As the response to COVID-19 and its variants continues to evolve, the Palace Theater is working with municipal and public health officials to assess COVID-19 related protocols and ensure that the venue remains a safe environment for all.

Vaccination Policy

With the continued downward trend of COVID-19 infection rates in Connecticut and regionally, the Palace Theater will no longer require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test for patrons and staff attending performances, events, or activities in the building, effective Monday, March 14, 2022, with the following exceptions:

  • Certain touring productions, performers, or artists may require that patrons show proof of vaccination or negative test. We will post updates on individual event pages, on Facebook, and in pre-show emails, if applicable.
  • Should the State, local municipality or health authority issue further changes to policy in response to an increase or decrease in COVID infection rates, the Palace reserves the right to comply with such changes and recommendations, including the reinstatement of vaccination/test requirements.
  • If you feel sick or are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, we ask that you prioritize your health and the health of others by staying home.

Mask Optional Policy

The Palace Theater will no longer require its patrons, attendees, and staff to wear a face mask in the building for events, activities, or work, effective Monday, February 28, 2022, with the following exceptions:

  • Patrons, attendees, and staff may opt to continue wearing a mask for their own protection if they choose to do so.
  • Certain touring productions, performers, or artists may require masks to be worn before, during, and after their performances. We will post updates on individual event pages, on Facebook, and in pre-show emails, if applicable.
  • If you are not fully vaccinated, we encourage you to wear a mask while in the building.
  • Should the State, local municipality or health authority issue further changes to policy in response to an increase or decrease in COVID infection rates, the Palace reserves the right to comply with such changes and recommendations, including the reinstatement of mask wearing.

Building Updates

Additionally, we have made significant updates to our building and amenities designed to promote a healthy and safe patron experience.

Air Quality

The Palace utilizes MERV-13 filters and has enhanced air exchange protocols allowing for greater amounts of fresh air within the theater.

Cleanliness

The Palace is cleaned and sanitized daily and between performances, with a focus on frequently used areas and touchpoints. Touchless hand-sanitization stations are available throughout the building.

Thank You for Your Cooperation and Support

The Palace will continue to update its policy based on requirements from the State of CT and the City of Waterbury. Thank you for your cooperation and continued support as we all navigate this difficult situation. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Palace Theater Box Office at 203-346-2000.
